Green Thumb Post #2

Just a quick update on my garden!

I can't believe how much it has grown. The cilantro, lettuce, and tomato plants are doing the best thus far. The lettuce is taking over the garden and I am going to have to start giving it away to people. We have two decent-sized tomatoes already and the strawberries keep trying to grow, but unfortunately the insects seem to get to them before they are fully ripe :)

Round Top Round Up

This morning my mama and I decided to venture to Round Top, TX, which is a place just outside of Giddings, where the most amazing antique fair takes place biannually. Vendors come from all over the world to sell their stuff; and while it is predominantly an antique fair, you can really find a little bit of everything - from fine European linens and beautiful kilim goods from Turkey to new, "industrial chic" furniture. It is so gargantuan that you really need to stay an entire weekend to see everything - we only scratched the surface but I ended up purchasing a large metal letter "G" to hang in my bedroom, a pumpkin vine ball that hangs from the ceiling, and a pillow cover (see pics below).

After we finished shopping, we drove about 20 miles into Brenham, where we had lunch at the Breadbasket Cafe. There we had a heart attack-inducing (yet yummy) meal consisting of onion rings, corn fritters, chicken tenders, and sweet tea (Gym, I will pay you a visit tomorrow).

Indoor/Outdoor Bathrooms

If I ever built my dream home, the bathroom would have some form of outdoor feature...
